Tweens Love Comfort – Pattern Parcel

Wow, today is the final day to get this Pattern Parcel! I hope you grabbed it! So many great patterns for all ages of girls! And stylish without being overly fluffy and ruffly! I sewed up two pieces that were almost made to go together – the EYMM Drape Top and the Greenstyle Yoga Pant – because tweens love comfort and style!

My girl isn’t into overly girly things, and she’s got her own sense of style. She helped decide on the patterns for this outfit! I think it is just the right amount of wacky while being fun and on trend. And it feels like pajamas! Who doesn’t want to live in tees and yoga pants?
Pattern Parcel #5

The EYMM Asymmetrical Drape Top is super trendy without being fast fashion that will be out in a month or something you wouldn’t want your kids to wear. It is also a very easy sew! We picked a tribal burnout cotton that was slightly sheer for the back and paired it with a solid cotton front for modesty. I chose the fuller drape option, but there’s a second with less of a dolman sleeve that might be even better for everyday school wear. This pattern also has the option of a hem band, but I chose to just leave it loose to drape over the yoga pants.

The Greenstyle Everyday Yoga Pants are a super easy pattern and great for customizing to your fit. They have front and back pieces, so they have a nice fit through the hips, and then a flare from the knee. I made her the L (note that the chart should be for waist and not hip as stated), but cut them to the small length. She’s a shorter girl, and I thought just past the knee would be a good look proportionally. I also only had a half yard length of fabric to work with and I really wanted to use that print!

My print fabrics were from a Girl Charlee (<– my referral link!) slightly flawed bundle of 1/2 yard cuts I bought recently. I hadn’t ordered from them before, so this was actually a neat way to get to feel a few different fabrics. I loved the big sunflower print and a few others in the image on the site, and it was a good price. Overall I think lots are a neat way to expand my horizons, but I did get a few things I’m less likely to use. 1/2 yard of camo print, anyone?

How Pattern Parcel Works:
Here at Perfect Pattern Parcel, we believe in supporting independent pattern designers. It’s our opinion that indie patterns are just, well, better than big box patterns, and we’re pretty sure our customers think so too. So, we allow customers to show their support in naming their own price for each Parcel. We also encourage customers to allocate part of their Parcel price to the charity Donorschoose.org in order to help classrooms in need. Pattern Parcel donates all profits after expenses from Parcel sales to the charity as well. Together we’ve raised over $11,000 for classrooms in need!

Thanks, Angie! There are definitely more yoga pants in our future. She lives in leggings and yoga pants these days.
