Description
The Saturday Skirt is the first design release from Mimi’s Mom! My style is classic lines with a hint of whimsy that never goes out of style. The Saturday Skirt is inspired by my everyday life as a busy mom of three that bikes all over and still wants to look decent. And I always need a pocket! This skirt is perfect to throw on with a tee or tank and run out the door to grab some veggies on a Saturday morning at the farmer’s market.
The Saturday Skirt is a gentle A-line with an elastic waist, meant to be worn at your natural waist or dropped a couple inches lower as you prefer. As the back waist sits a little higher, you should always be covered! Ease through the hips is 4”, ease at waist is 10”, so picking size based on hips is generally the best choice. This pattern fits an average height of 5’5” with a finished back length of 22”.
Appropriate fabrics are quilting cottons, bottomweights, linen. You may need to purchase additional yardage to match patterns. Also needed is 3/4″ elastic.

I made myself two of these easy to sew skirts. The directions were easy to follow and the size was perfect. I plan to make several more! Great pattern especially if you are a beginner.

I made this and have another on the sewing table waiting on me …. not super motivated since its winter.
Good, clear to understand instructions; do not need to be a hard core sewer to do it. And it allows for showing your own flare with the pocket can be something nutty compared to the skirt portion.
