Golden Rippy Delilah Pattern Tour

Delilah Pattern Tour

I was super excited to be invited to join the Delilah Pattern Tour today! Mostly because I totally need new shirts. Selfish? Um… yes. But darn it, this is a cute shirt!

I am totally in need of shirts that aren’t short and boxy and look like I bought them a decade ago. Because I did. So when Rachel offered the chance to join in and show off her Golden Rippy Delilah, I signed up super fast! I love the modern style of this tee. This is going to be the perfect Fall-Transitional tee for me to wear when the weather starts turning in a month and back to school rolls around. Did I just say Fall-Transitional? Ex-retail employee problems.

And it’s super simple! There are just the shoulder and side seams, then the bindings, so it goes together quickly. Which was great for me, because I made it yesterday! Seriously, I’m a slacker. I had all month, but it was a really busy month. And so I ended up with child iPhoneographers after I whipped it up. Here’s one of them during a break from shooting.

I decided to use this bit of fabric I used previously to make a dress. I knew I wanted to make a cool top with it that was totally different from the previous look, and this seemed perfect. The hem, neckline, and cuffs are upcycled conference freebie tee shirt. I chose to leave off either of the included embellishments, as I thought it would be too busy. Next time, my pretties.

I definitely already have plans to make another of these! Or two! Or more. I already know the next is going to be all kelly green knit with the longer sleeve and fluffy flowers. Perfect for Fall-Transitional.

Oh, me too! There’s another cotton woven print that’s really similar that I adore also. It is Alexander Henry called “In Crowd” and I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t singing that old song while sewing this.
